The hotel's architects Mewés and Davis were retained to design both the layout and interior decorations for guest bedrooms and bathrooms. The rooms are large and comfortable with immaculate detailing, high ceilings and classical proportions. During the recent renovations, the Louis XVI style has been retained, the decorative gold leaf mouldings replaced and the antique Ritz bedroom furniture, original light fittings, chandeliers and bronze wall sconces meticulously repaired and restored. The majority of rooms have large panelled mirrors built into the panelling over the fireplace which is often crowned with a decorative motif.
Four principal colour schemes are used for the bedrooms – salmon-pink, rose-pink, yellow and blue. The curtains in each room are handsomely swagged and draped so one fabric is seen alternating with another. Both Jacquard and damask silks are used. Large, comfortable beds have gently rounded hand-made bed-heads upholstered in silk or satin.
The bathrooms are exceptionally spacious with large baths and the majority have two hand basins and separate shower cubicles. Exquisite toiletries and a fully stocked essentials box containing nail scissors, shoe cleaners, pre-threaded sewing kits and cotton wool are supplied in each room.
