Welcome to the Gastwerk Hotel, Europe’s first loft style hotel, and opened in January 2000. The property was built in a former municipal gasworks building, the name alludes to both the previous and present function of the property. The building offered gas for street lamps in the West end of Hamburg 150 years ago, but today natural light has been flooded in to give the hotel energy and vibrancy. The hotel is located in the westend of Hamburg not far away from the centre and the fish habour.
